Brief Overview
appleMods is a community managed site
appleMods derives from the work of Hamish Sanderson, Greg Strange and other AppleScript library developers. The current site is maintained by a community group of supporters, and a Steering Committee offers feedback and comment on the progress and development of the site and the effort to implement a standard library loading system for AppleScript developers and users.
In November of 2003, the author of Loader (the primary library loading and binding engine offered here) and of the first dozen libraries released here asked Gary Wood to take over the distribution and management of the code base, through a publicly available site, and with the intention of providing an central repository for loader-compatible libraries and for downloading and using Loader, LoaderWizard and other library utilities.
Having accepted the task, a Steering Committee was formed in order to help direct the development of the site and also to help in the re-introduction of libraries to a growing AppleScript audience.
